Research and Development
We recognise the importance of continued research and development and will be investing substantial resources to this end.
Our Research and Development department works closely with world leading polychaete biologists to ensure we are always at the forefront of research into marine worms.
New techniques and species
We are constantly developing culture techniques, improving the quality and availability of marine worms, and actively looking at the aquaculture of other worm species. Culture of the Lugworms Arenicola marina and A. defodiens is at an advanced pilot stage and will reach commercial scale production very soon.
Research on other warm water species is proceeding and approaches from development partners are welcome.
Experimental and research usage...the Specimen Service
We supply live ragworms for use in laboratory research and as environmental indicators.
The high quality of our ragworms combined with consistency of supply reduces variability in experimental design.
We export live worms daily, and can take orders from universities and research institutes for next day delivery. Please contact our UK Research and Development team, who would be happy to provide you with further information...
